Let Me Be There

Its been 3 years passed already since we left Tempe, Arizona. This picture has brought back memories of some cold nights in November 2008 when I and my wife always get out and spent our evening sitting at the edge of The Tempe Town Lake and watched some christmas concert that held by the community. Believed to be in there again one day.

Olivia Newton John - Don't stop believing.

Great Blue Heron

The tall, long-legged great blue heron is the most common and largest of North American herons.
Great blue herons are waders, typically seen along coastlines, in marshes, or near the shores of ponds or streams. They are expert fishers. Herons snare their aquatic prey by walking slowly, or standing still for long periods of time and waiting for fish to come within range of their long necks and blade-like bills. The deathblow is delivered with a quick thrust of the sharp bill, and the prey is swallowed whole. Great blue herons have been known to choke to death by attempting to swallow fish too large for their long, S-shaped necks. Though they are best known as fishers, mice constitute a large part of their diet, and they also eat insects and other small creatures.

Canyon Lake, Arizona

Canyon Lake, about 40 miles east of Phoenix is one of the four lakes created by dams on the salt river. The others are Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake, and Saguaro Lake. Canyon Lake is the smallest of the four, but probably the most picturesque.

Big Gossan Paste Plant Disc Filter Level

Big Gossan Mine is an open stope mine with delayed paste fill method owned by Freeport McMoRan Mining Company. In order to support its production expansion, underground mine division has decided to build a paste plant to produce paste, which can be used to refill voids after mining completed. As you can see in this picture, the plant was build in underground, on top of the mine orebody. The disc filter level is a level for tailing processing to provide appropriate solid density to be added into the mixing system.

Big Gossan Paste Plant Project is about 95% completed. The plant is scheduled to run its full production on June 2011.
